Do you want to learn more about how you can become a small real estate developer for a project in your neighborhood? Are you an advocate or local leader looking to encourage better buildings in your community? This free public forum is designed for potential developers, small-scale builders, and community leaders committed to producing real, near-term solutions. It’s an opportune time for this discussion, as the city is underway with both their General Plan and Zoning Code Updates.
What to Expect:
Ryan Terry, Board Chair of the Incremental Development Alliance and professional small-scale developer and Principal of R+T Studios will provide an overview of what incremental development is, why it currently is so difficult, and what concerned citizens can start to do about it, so we can reinvest in the places we love. This session will emphasize how building code literacy and access to flexible financing can unlock new pathways to homeownership and wealth creation—particularly in underserved and historically marginalized communities.
Next, Charles L. Marohn, Jr., President of Strong Towns, will introduce development approaches that build financial resilience and long-term prosperity in cities and towns. He will outline concrete steps local leaders can begin implementing immediately to reshape the region’s housing trajectory.
The event includes a continental breakfast.

ABOUT THE PRESENTERS:
Ryan Terry
Board Chair, Incremental Development Alliance and Principal, R+T Studios
A former Marine Infantry Officer turned incremental developer, Ryan is a product of the Incremental Development Alliance's training—having attended the very first IncDev workshop in 2015. In 2016, he began the process of transforming several vacant properties in downtown Bryan, TX into a thriving mixed-use development before selling his portfolio in 2023 and re-establishing his company, R+T Studio, in Fort Worth. Ryan brings expertise in construction management, development programming, and the strategy of subdividing large projects into manageable phases—a strategy that allowed him to realize development where others saw only obstacles. His development work is deeply personal, inspired by his military service and driven by a mission to help forgotten communities retrieve their dignity.
