OUR VISION
OUR MISSION
Loving Your Place
We envision neighborhoods regenerated by small developers who care deeply about the places where they live and build.
The Alliance helps local entrepreneurs and civic leaders strengthen their neighborhoods through small-scale real estate projects.
So much of the real estate industry is extractive, where far-away investors mine the value from properties that line our streets. We are working toward a more generative real estate model, where local people can invest in their own neighborhoods and in that process, create new life and value that benefits their community. The kind of places we want to live in are built and maintained by people who really love them.
Our Impact
We started our work in 2015 with a simple proposition: small scale developers could share their hard-won lessons with folks who wanted to try their own hand at development.
Today, we’ve trained more than 10,000 small developers in nearly all 50 states.
Our program alumni are renovating duplexes, redeveloping storefronts, building backyard cottages and making a measurable impact on the housing and small businesses in their cities.
Our IncDev Faculty are seasoned developers and municipal leaders pioneering a path toward more resilient, affordable housing, rooted in the communities where they live.
Our past trainings have been hosted and supported by:
The Knight Foundation
The Kresge Foundation
LISC
Urban Land Institute
Congress for the New Urbanism
And dozens of cities and states from coast to coast.
