Business Operations & Communications Intern
Focus: Events, Email, and Digital Content
Organization: Incremental Development Alliance
Location: Remote
Schedule: Approximately 15–20 hours per week
Term: Immediately through December 2026, with the possibility of extension
Compensation: $20 per hour
IncDev is seeking a highly organized, dependable, and digitally capable intern to support our events, communications, and day-to-day business operations. This is a hands-on internship for someone who enjoys taking an idea, plan, or set of instructions and turning it into completed, accurate work. The intern will help coordinate events, prepare and send routine communications, update websites and registration platforms, and support digital content and social media execution.
The position is housed within IncDev. As time, workload, and the intern’s interests allow, the intern may also contribute to projects involving IncDev’s partner organizations and aligned initiatives working in housing, transportation, community development, and related fields. This is not an internship where you will spend the semester observing from the sidelines. You will be trusted with meaningful responsibilities, given access to experienced practitioners, and invited to participate in virtual programs and events. See here for a full position description.
During the internship, you will gain practical experience in:
Operating virtual and in-person professional events.
Managing organizational email and digital communications.
Maintaining websites, registration platforms, and content calendars.
Translating strategy and approved plans into completed deliverables.
Working across multiple projects and partner organizations.
Communicating with participants, faculty members, practitioners, and organizational partners.
Understanding the work of small-scale real estate developers and the communities that support them.
You will also have opportunities to attend selected IncDev programs, learn from nationally recognized faculty and practitioners, and develop work that can contribute to a professional portfolio.
