Join the Incremental Development Alliance for our Fall 2026 National Field Trip in Memphis, TN! Alliance members will have an opportunity to tour the best examples of adaptive reuse, infill development, historic renovations, and hidden gems across the city. Get the behind the scenes of how the sausage was made — challenges overcome and creative wins from successful small developers. Meet IncDev Faculty, alumni, and supporters of the organization, including time to connect with others within your ecosystem.
Agenda
Thursday, Sept 24, 2026 - We'll start with a Member Welcome Event to meet and greet with your fellow attendees and IncDev faculty. Then join us and the Memphis real estate ecosystem for a public lecture to learn more about the incremental development universe,
Friday, Sept 25, 2026 - Neighborhood walking tours to celebrate the unique, small scale development projects happening in the region with local meals and refreshments throughout the day. Some of our stops include:
Crosstown Concourse — An award-winning mixed-use adaptive reuse of Memphis' historic Sears building.
Malone Park Commons — Walkable missing-middle neighborhood creating attainable homes in Uptown Memphis.
Belle|Mont — A cottage court community showcasing innovative missing-middle housing around shared green space.
Saturday, Sept 26, 2025 - More walking tours. We'll end the tour with a full group reflection gathering at a local brewery. Some of our stops include:
Sterick Building — Historic skyscraper undergoing transformative mixed-use rehabilitation after decades of vacancy.
Memphis Housing Lab Modular Homes — Innovative modular homes advancing faster, attainable housing solutions.
Homes for Hearts Tiny Homes — Scattered site tiny homes creating affordable homeownership opportunities after homelessness.
More stops will be featured both Friday and Saturday of our tour. This just gives you a small taste of what we’ll be exploring together.

Early Bird (until August 28): $349 | General Admission: $499
Ticket includes access to walking tours, transportation in between town tours, and select group refreshments.
Ticket does not include airfare, travel to and from airport, hotel or most meals.
